I was wondering where the heck I’d find the time to blog at you about the first of Thursday’s Festival Concerts Thursday evening (May 31, 8:00 p.m.) at the Sottile Theatre – where Brahms’ magnificent Symphony No. 4 (and some lighter fare from Ravel) will happen. I’ll be there with bells on, as our most excellent SFO musicians perform this prince among symphonies. Why flash a fresh flurry (try saying that fast 10 times) of words upon you, when I can commend to you my preview on the subject in today’s (30 May) issue of the City Paper? If you haven’t picked up your hard copy but still want to bone up on it, just click here. Trust me, I’m not being lazy. Why duplicate effort when you’ve got plenty of other good and timely stuff to blog about? But if you’re lucky enough to have tickets for it and you don’t know this marvelous music … I can help.
